UNDERSTANDING SANATAN DHARMA

the path towards superior intelligence

Why Cow is Considered So Important in Sanatan Dharma

COW MILK PROVIDES BASIC WISDOM AND INTELLIGENCE IN HUMANS WHICH BUFFALO MILK DOES NOT

A very important food intake which almost all of the people take on a regular basis is milk and milk products such as yoghurt, cheese, sweets etc. Milk and milk products form an important constituent of every person’s diet every day. The importance of intake of milk cannot be undermined as this is the first food that any human or animal offspring takes after birth. As the body of the child grows the intake of milk increases and after a certain age one has to change to animal milk. All over the world milk and milk products are consumed regularly and by almost each and every individual in some form or the other. Milk and milk products form a major portion of every individual’s daily diet and hence form a major input to the human body. Since milk is such an important ingredient of every day diet its importance cannot be undermined.

At present there are two animal produced milks consumed at large in the world, the cow milk and the buffalo milk. One must notice that in the entire western world which includes Europe, Canada and America as also New Zealand and Australia, Africa, China etc. it is the cow milk that is consumed.

Buffalo milk is largely consumed in India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Thailand etc. India is the largest producer and consumer of buffalo milk followed by Pakistan the second largest.

IS BUFFALO MILK RESPONSIBLE FOR CONSTANT PROBLEMS IN INDIA- PAKISTAN REGION?

Incidentally this is also the region where the development is at the least, corruption at the highest and problems galore in spite of all the talent that exists. People and the governments are not able to find and implement simple solutions to a whole range of problems. These places are also notorious for filthiness. Cleanliness eludes the minds of people.

Ancient Indian texts clearly indicate that it is the cow milk that is nearest to the human milk. The texts also recommend drinking of cow milk, the buffalo milk does not feature anywhere in the texts. It is one of the greatest contradictions in India that despite the recommendations of the ancient sages and the Gods to drink cow milk, people are at large are drinking buffalo milk.

Because of the importance of cow milk, cow is considered most sacred in the ancient Indian texts.

Cow is still the most respected milk producing animal in India. Yet the contemporary leadership in India failed to recognize the importance of cow milk and promoted buffalo milk in India.

If we compare the physical constituents of the two milks we shall see that there is no significant difference in the physical ingredients. Modern science considers only two very important ingredients and these are Fat and Calcium.

The Wiki describes milk as follows:

''Milk is an opaque white liquid produced by the mammary glands of female mammals (including monotremes). It provides the primary source of nutrition for newborn mammals before they are able to digest other types of food. The early lactation milk is known as colostrum, and carries the mother's antibodies to the baby. It can reduce the risk of many diseases in the baby. The exact components of raw milk varies by species, but it contains significant amounts of saturated fat, protein, and calcium as well as Vitamin C. Cow's milk has a pH ranging from 6.4 to 6.8, making it slightly acidic.''

Most Indian websites recommend buffalo milk over cow milk due to the reason that the buffalo milk has a slightly higher content of fat as compared to the cow milk. This is the sole criterion on which the buffalo milk has been promoted and made popular in India. The fact is that cow milk is closest to the human milk. However this fact has been totally ignored by the Indian milk federations and promoters.

Possibly this is one single most significant reason which is causing problems in the region and the world.

Going a little deeper into the composition of cow and buffalo milks we have the following table.

The American websites also show similar differences in compositions.

An important reference worth mentioning is from the book “Milk Its remarkable contribution to Human Health and Well Being” by Stuart Patton. This book is available on books.google.co.in/ books? isbn=1412805112. Time and again the author has emphasized the importance of Cow milk in the book. To mention a few examples:

“Milk is an important factor in the life of virtually every human being, whether it is one’s initial nourishment following birth, the milk a woman makes in her breast, or the cow’s milk and its products that form an important part of one’s diet throughout life. Cow’s milk contains more of the essential vitamins and minerals required by the human than any other single food.”

Stuart Patton states that “The cow is called ‘the foster mother of the human race’. This term is based not only on the use of bovine milk as human food but also on the worldwide use of formulas based on cow’s milk to feed human infants.”

“In respect to human nutrition, cow’s milk frequently is described as ‘the most nearly perfect food’.”

One very important web link to read is http://protectacow. typepad.com/goshalla/2009/04/cows-milk-is-particularly-essential-for-developing-the-finer-tissues-of-the-human-brain-so-that-one-.html

Is widespread drinking of buffalo milk affecting the thinking processes of people and the governments? Is this leading to problems not getting solved in spite of all the talent, knowledge and experience the people of these countries have? It may be an extreme statement but the question raised is ‘Is drinking buffalo milk the real reason behind all the problems these countries are facing?’ These questions need to be answered. It is definitely worth a very serious consideration.

It is a common knowledge that cow is a far more intelligent animal than buffalo. Is the intelligence of buffaloes being passed on to humans? Buffalo is a dirty animal with little intelligence. In certain countries buffalo is considered so dirty that it is shot dead at sight.

Possibly no scientific research till date has been conducted on the issue of influence of milk on the development of brain and human thinking process. This issue however requires a very serious attention by the governments. The governments may find solution to lot of problems the countries are facing in this.
